Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!  I've been super sickie this weekend - lots of sniffles, coughing, hacking, etc.  Not fun.  We went to my mom's for Easter brunch and had a lovely time.  Normally I share the food we ate, but today I'll share the topics we  discussed, with little to no context:

Scenes from Brandi & Dan's Saint Patrick's Day party & my dad's birthday party.  Brandi & Dan's spread of food was just wonderful - the cheese plate was to die for.  We had a lovely time meeting neighbors and catching up with friends. 

The family pictures are from my dad's birthday party.  Audrey and Jess and I had fun with playdoh.  I made a pink duckie.  Isn't she cute?

Experience

Good judgment comes from experience. And often, experience comes from bad judgment.

I was thinking today about experience.  Our unique experiences and judgment calls in life and work shape who we are, who we become.  Paul's stress level is at an all-time high lately; his team at work is going through communication and prioritization issues.  They parallel some of the issues going on in my team at work.  They're the kinds of issues that are present on any team - failure in leadership, conflicting priorities, limited resources, miscommunication, extreme stress, and overwork.  In my new role, I'm just learning to navigate the system, advocate for my team, note the early signs of stress and overcommitment, and demand new solutions.  I hope I'm getting better at it.

So, here's to bad judgment leading to wisdom and a reset of priorities.
